This is so cool, amazing how strange you came make this scene seem with just the proportions of things and the direct stare of the old man!

It gives me a sort feeling of a cross between Breugal (the colors and people) and Roussaeu (compositionally, like "The fooball players").

Unfortunately this real and outstanding art will be buried in a sea of internet ponies and manga woman with boob's impossible to walk with..but in the real (living) world you'll make a ton of money and can claim you paint as a living!

See you in the gallery!

Translation: Learn to read and understand.

If you'd like me to break it down for your ignorance.

Daily Deviation's and most Popular are always full of the same things (mlp and anime) everything else seems to be sidelined, so it is refreshing to see something like this getting the attention it deserves. This is gallery work with a different audience.

Cry me a river, elitist.  You don't want to get a comment like that, don't try to impress people with your pretentiousness.  No one is impressed that you think art that copies classic religious art is more "real" than people who spend time drawing something else.

elitist?! You have the completely wrong end of the stick. Why are you wasting your time? You're not winning anything here. So just leave it or make your own comment to say why you clearly don't like this piece.

I like the piece.  The point is you used it as an opportunity for elitist grandstanding.

Anyone who praises anything while whining about real art and bashing others is obviously a pretentious ****.  But apparently you're impressed by that.  Good job, you're another witless poseur.  I like this piece, but I'm not mesmerized by its art style and faux-intelectualism that is obviously lifted from other extremely famous artists.  I'm sorry just turning out stuff designed to suck up to art school professors does not mean I'm going to be impressed by other people that bash nerdy artwork of a different kind, say the terrible Dr. Who stuff currently in your gallery folder, hypocrite.

The person is just bashing out on MLP. (which I have no real opinion on). But they make a good point about anime. It's really annoying to see woman with boobs that are so unrealistic and people actually liking it when they could see artwork that has a lot more meaning than that.

Meaning is up to the viewer.  I have friends, who all have a vagina btw, that draw that kind of thing.  If you don't like it, mind your own business.  Or is it only okay when it's bishies dressed like Nazis, which appears to be your own fetishized preference?  I like the artwork, but it's not brilliant.  If I reproduced Picasso, it doesn't mean I need to be praised like Picasso was.  This is what this artwork is, a recreation of other people's work.  This person is not going to become "famous" in the art world based off of this derivative work like the person you replied to with that overused Orson Welles gif suggested.

Nazis aren't a fetish of mine. I am seriously interested in the history of the Third Reich. My parents know it and are cool with it. They know I'm not a supporter of Nazism o.0 (if that's what you're implying). I already know my artwork isn't great. That doesn't stop me from posting it. I'm not even telling people to stop drawing what they like.

No you don't need to be praised like Picasso, but to be able to produce something like this is certainly amazing. The style is based off of famous artisans, but they were famous for a reason. Being able to shade and making it life-like.

I'm sorry, you like kawaii nazis.  It's hypocritical to say the least to whine about anime women having boobs when you're using cutesy depictions of supporters of genocide.  Which is worse, depicting women in control of their sexuality who aren't ashamed of their bodies or idealized, cuteseyfied depictions of the people who tried to exterminate Jews and homosexuals.

They were famous hundreds of years ago when their artwork was still original.  No one is going to pat you on the back for inventing the wheel in 2014.  The artwork is good, I like it,  but it doesn't deserve faux-elitist commentaries from people who are only having a base response to the signifier of it resembling something they've seen before in a text book or a museum.

Here is a masterpiece with a lot of talent, thought and training involved, given a DD status, but attracting much less attention than simple snapshots.
